External halyard flagpoles are the most poplar and affordable choices for displaying your flag.
An external flagpole consists of a nylon sheave with an aluminum pulley system referred to as a truck. This is the mechanism that allows one to raise the flag via a braided nylon rope that is tied to a cleat, which is secured, with screws midway to the base of the flagpole. The truck is threaded into the top of the pole. Mounted on a threaded spindle is a cap that allows the truck pulley to rotate on 26 stainless steel ball bearings situated on cast races, allowing the truck to move with the wind to avoid flag wrap. An ornamental finial such as a ball or an eagle can be mounted into the top of the truck pulley system. The flag is attached to the rope via two snap hooks. Once the flag is attached it can easily be raised or lowered by untying the rope from the cleat and pulling it through the pulley system.
Standard fittings include: a gold anodized, spun aluminum ball, a cast aluminum, single sheave truck assembly, cast aluminum cleats, braided polypropylene halyard with snaphooks and a ground setting tube.
NOTE: Before purchasing your flagpole, please check with your local planning dept./building codes, for wind load requirements and/or any permits you may be required to have.
